Integrated Public Transport
Melbourne’s Metlink ticketing system allows multiple journeys using the complete Metlink transport network. Tickets are known as Metcards and provide flexible travel on trains, trams and buses. Check maps located at stations, tram stops and on transport to match your ticket to your journey. The Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station) provides a major transport hub for interstate and metropolitan trains and the Airport Shuttle (Skybus).

City Circle Tram
The free City Circle tram provides visitors to Melbourne with a great way to not only navigate the city but provides a short cut to many of Melbourne’s landmarks. Designed as a hop-on, hop-off service, it’s a great way to get around.

Trams and Trains
Tram routes cover the city and inner suburbs. The city is the central hub of the train and tram network. A ticket must be bought for train and tram travel according to the zone and time of travel. The major train station is Flinders Street, and Southern Cross is the connecting station between Melbourne and Regional Victorian trains (V/line).

Buses

Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle
Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle has a free bus service that compliments the City Circle Tram, the service runs every 15 minutes between 10am and 4pm every day. The bus route has 15 stops, travelling around the outskirts of the CBD, with an audio commentary and brochure stands provide information on key attractions.
