Melbourne Museum - The Age Theatre

Melbourne Museum is located just north of the Melbourne CBD within the Exhibition Gardens. It can be accessed by via Rathdowne or Nicholson Streets in Carlton. Or you could walk through the gardens from the south at Victoria Street. The largest museum in the Southern Hemisphere, Melbourne Museum is both impressive and imposing, boasting soaring glass walls and steel columns. The Melbourne Museum features an innovative combination of space, colour and texture.

The Age Theatre is situated on the lower ground floor of the Melbourne Museum, accessed by escalators at the main entrance.

The Museum is to the north of the World Heritage Listed Exhibition Buildings and gardens. Enjoy a walk through these wonderful gardens when getting to and from the tram and to dinner after the conference.

Public Transport Access or Car Parking
The Melbourne Museum is easily accessed by tram routes 86 and 96.

However if you really need to bring your car, the Melbourne Museum car park offers 900 bays at $10 per day, is adjacent to the building and has direct lift access to the entrance of the Melbourne Museum.

Access the car park from either Nicholson Street or Rathdowne Street, and remember to take note of where you leave your vehicle: Rathdowne Street markings are in red; Nicholson in blue!
